GOSPEL ASSEMBLY CHURCH INTERNATIONAL PRAYER PROGRAM
12 DAYS OF PRAYER AND FASTING JANUARY 1ST TO 12TH NITED IN PRAYER!
2012 – THE YEAR OF MANIFESTATION
“For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God.” Romans 8:19. 12 is a number of government. 12 tribes, 12 Apostlesetc. This is therefore a year of God’s government, God’s rule and dominion through His sons, but they must be Manifested first. The coming year therefore, is primarily the year of Manifesting the sons of God. The glory and grace of God shall be revealed in many areas of God’s people’s lives and they shall arise to shine. Isaiah 60:1. They are going to come out of obscurity as they are revealed for all to see. This is going to be the theme for 2012, hence the focus during our 12 days of prayer and fasting. Those whom the LORD “Enlarged and favoured” in 2011, shall now openly be revealed. All you have to do in the year of Manifestation is, “enlarge the place of thy tent, and let them stretch forth the curtains of thine habitations… For thou shalt break forth on the right hand and on the left;….”
Isaiah 54:2,3. “And the glory of the LORD shall be revealed and all flesh shall see it together: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.”
Isaiah 40:5.
DAY 1 – SELF CONSECRATION is a necessary exercise to position ourselves right before God. Joshua told the children of Israel to prepare themselves for they shall meet with the Lord. Joshua 3:5. It is time to dedicate ourselves to the LORD and have his glory fill our lives/temples Romans 12:1 and 1 Corinthians 6:19 just like it happened during the dedication of the Solomon’s temple 2 Chronicles 7:1. The Lord reminded us that they that worship Him must do so “….in spirit and in truth.” John 4:20-24. See Acts 3:19. Reading: 2 Chronicles 7:14, Psalms 139; Job 34:32; Psalms 66:18; Psalms 5:12
Thought: “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” 1 John 1:9.
Genuine repentance is the administering key into the Kingdom of God. Before we can effectively engage God in anything including prayer and fasting, we must self-search, confess and repent of any known or unknown sin that can hinder the rest of the process and reduce it to mere dieting activity. Genuine repentance not just confession (ref: Jeremiah 31:18) is the main key to revival, hence restores the relationship that gives assurance of pardon and forgiveness. “I will dwell in them and walk among them. I will be their God and they shall be my people.” 2 Corinthians 6:16.
Guide: In such a busy world as ours, we need to re-evaluate our priorities and relationships. Intimacy with God is top on our list of priorities. So we pray that our prayers be heard from the time we set our faces to seek the LORD. (Daniel 10:12).
DAY 2 – THE CHURCH
The fellowship in the church is of the Father through the Son in the bond of the Spirit, as such must to be cherished, by all believers, (1 John 1:1-3; Hebrews 10:25) inthe place “where HIS Name dwells.” 2 Chronicles 6:20
Reading: Matthew 16:18; Ephesians 5:25-27; 2:19-22 Galatians 6:10
Thought: Jesus Christ is the sole founder of this church; this being the institution divinely built too, to correct humanity due to the failure of the family as an institution. He therefore built it and gave his whole life for it. We too need, to enhance its growth, protect and provide for it. Let’s pray to God to give us a love and a heart to labour for the church’s growth and preservation. To play our part, that when Christ returns, he will find faith on earth. Recommit and rededicate yourself to Christ’s cause on earth through the church. There is need for us to be actively involved in the enlargement of God’s church in the earth, by regular attendance and our financial support. “That there may be meat……” Malachi 3:10.
Guide: The presence of God – Personal intimacy with the Lord and shared testimony of the Lord’s doings must be pursued by believers. Acts 14:27. May the LORD visit us and abide amongst us each time our doors open to worship Him and hear His word.
DAY 3 – MISSIONS
We all must be ready to be sent at the Masters bidding (Matthew 11:2; Luke 19:29) as no servant is above the Master – JESUS. Matthew 10:24. The church (member and not building) was meant to gather and spread the GOOD NEWS to the ends of the earth, Matthew 28:19-20. Our focus in missions is purely, “making disciples for the Lord.”
Reading: 2 Thessalonians 1:11; Luke 10:1-9; Proverbs 20:6; Luke 18:8 Thought: Hebrews 13:18. We are the ecclesia (called out ones) with a message of reconciliation to those currently outside the plan of God. A message however, requires messengers and this is why Jesus told us to pray that the Lord of harvest would send labourers.
Guide: Our prayers should be directed for God to create a willingness to go. Read the parable of the two sons. (Matthew 21:28-32).
DAY 4 – APOSTLE RUTIVI & FAMILY/OUR LOCAL PASTORS/CHURCH LEADERS & FAMILIES
Reading: 1Thessalonians 5:25; 1Corinthians 12:28; Ephesians 4:12;
Hebrews 13:7,18;
2Thess 1,2
Thought: Nations, churches and families only ascend to the level of the leadership they have. Praying for the Apostle and his family and your local Pastors is one of the key ways our church can attain to the mark of God’s calling.
Guide: Do you know the vision of your Apostle/Pastor? His/her challenges? Do you recognize the silent role that the Apostle’s/Pastor’s wife which so often goes without applause? What about their personal dreams for their children? An intercessor must be touched by the life of the ones he intercedes for.
DAY 5 – OUR FELLOWSHIP INTERNATIONALLY
Key in this year of manifestation is strategic partnership and collaborations with our opposites. God wants us to humble ourselves to our brother’s view point, and consider it. We cannot always have a higher opinion of ourselves against that of our neighbours. Philippians 2:3-7. This is tantamount to vain glory and strife. Too long has the church been divided over petty things that are mere non-essentials. Lets inculcate the spirit of charity – the identity of a believer. It is clearly stated that a kingdom divided against itself that kingdom cannot stand. Mark 3:24.
We are reminded how good and pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in Unity…for therein He commands a blessing. Psalms 133:1:6; 1Corinthians 1:2, 9-10; 1 John 1:3-7 Reading: Ephesians 3:9-12; John 13:1,34; Philippians 1:5-6; Ephesians 4:1-6; Acts 2:42; 1Corinthians 13:1
Thought: The corporal, corporate Body of Christ is international. Its unity is not based on uniformity but in the recognition of the grace of God working in each one of the assemblies and the gifts of God that he has given the Church in their diversity Galatians 2:9. We therefore must pray for that understanding, for there to be such a unity coated by the divine love of God/charity…that by our love the world may know we are indeed His disciples. There is no greater witness than love in action.
Guide: Spiritual maturity demonstrates an acknowledgement in love of other ministry gifts, without feeling insecure or jealous. (Ephesians 5:21 & 1Peter 5:5).
DAY 6 – ANNUAL EASTER CONVENTION 06TH APRIL TO 09TH APRIL 2012
The grand spiritual event that all must yearly attend as often as they can! Convention meeting is a hallmark of our seeking for a touch from the Master’s Hand. It is a time to hear and heed His voice, and find direction individually and collectively. Judges 13:15-21. We should not have any doubt that we shall have an encounter with the Lord just like Jacob wrestled with the angel until he got his blessing. Genesis 28:10-19; 32:24-5.
Reading:Ezra 3:1-5; Jude 12; Psalms 133 Nehemiah 8:1
Thought:Our meeting should never be a mere tradition but a holy convocation unto the Lord, affording us an opportunity to foster the spirit of brotherhood, love and unity. It is a “feast of charity,” where we generously manifest the right spirit “….full of mercy and good fruits, without partially, and without hypocrisy.” James 3:17.
Guide: God to cause more people to attend these meetings and that we grow from strength to strength, and from glory to glory till we be fully restored. God’s glorious presence to overshadow the meetings and clear direction granted amidst undisputable signs and wonders. May the Lord use the convention to restore our fellowship that we be more unified. Psalms 145:3; Daniel 7:27; 4:2-3. Pray that no hassles and disruptions be in the way of planners, and pilgrims to the convention.
DAY 7 – DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS FOR YOUR LOCAL CHURCHES
Reading: Luke 14:21-43; Nehemiah 6:3; Luke 19:13
Thought: With so many distractions around us, we need to stay the course and occupy till he comes. We should stay busy in the Lord’s vineyard and harvest.
This is the hallmark of an industrious church.
Guide: Remember all the projects: TV ministry, Orphanage. We want bigger land for
the orphanage. Many of our local churches, Thika, Mombasa, Eldoret, Kampala, Jinja, Entebbe, Jo’burg, Harare, Lusaka, Chingola and Chipata to mention a few, are busy building or acquiring land, lets pray for both human and financial resources. That the people sacrificially give theirs and themselves to these projects. God to raise up burden bearers.
DAY 8 – YOUR NATION/COUNTRY AND AFRICAN CONTINENT AS A WHOLE
The prayer of a righteous man availeth much James 5:16. Let not God seek for one interceding for the land and find none, lets stand in the gap Ezekiel 22:30.
Reading: 2 Samuel 24:25; Genesis 20:4; Proverbs 14:34; Zechariah 2:11; Acts 10:35; 2 Chronicles 7:14; Psalms 107:35-43.
Thought: We need peace and safety in our nations and cities in order to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ undeterred. To have an enabling environment supporting ministering the “entrance into the Kingdom of God!” And to grow prosperous economies and thereby alleviate poverty! 2 Thessalonians 3:1,2. May God give us credible and accountable leaders who will work to root out corruption for the love of their people and countries. We can through our intercession influence the course of events in our nations. Proverbs 21:1.
Guide: Our nation has continually been diverted from evil by prayer. Never under estimate the power you carry in determining the future of your nations!
DAY 9 – THE NATION OF ISRAEL – GOD’S COVENANT PEOPLE
Reading: Psalms 122:3-6; Psalms 137:5-7; Zechariah 2:8 Thought: You make as it were God’s heart rejoice when you pray for Israel. This too triggers God’s blessings and peace into your own life. Guide: May God protect, defend Israel and fulfill His prophecy concerning them especially in the impending hard times. May He turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the hearts of children to their fathers. May he guide America, Israel’s greatest ally to formulate right policies towards Israel and the entire Middle East. That the people of Israel might get to be reconciled back to God and that they might acknowledge the Messiah Matthew 23:37-9; Romans 9; 10:1-8 and 11:11-12.
DAY 10 – YOUR OWN FAMILY NEEDS RESTORATION
As a family there is need to have common focus and vision being the first divinely instituted institution Joshua 24:15b. Reading:Colossians 3:18,21; Ephesians 5:21-25; 6:1-4 Thought: God’s purposes in the earth were to be administered through well-ordered families. The direction offered by the head of the family is important in having God’s purpose accomplished in the family Acts 10:1,22 & Acts 16:14-5. But the natural elements and pressures from the world have taken time and attention from the important things that the family needed to accomplish, giving rise to contingency institutions like the church, in order to become a corrective measure in God’s plan, where the family failed. (“….put away strange gods that are among you,” – Genesis 35:2; Luke 6:13) Prayer for Restoration in the family of all that was taken need to be made in unity as family (2 Kings 8:3-6). Great families beget great churches and great churches beget great societies. “I will be the God of all the families of Israel.” Jeremiah 31:1. Guide: Gather together as a family and prayerfully discuss on future plans for yourselves. Seek to know God’s will for the family collectively and individually. Share about your deepest needs and goals as you set the family’s agenda for the year and beyond. And in the Prayers ask that the “Ark might dwell” in our household like it did in Obededom’s. 1Chronicles 13:14; Genesis 18:19
DAY 11 – PRAY FOR RESTORATION OF ONE ANOTHER/THE BROTHERHOOD
Abraham was concerned about the welfare of his kin Lot, and when he knew there was impending trouble where Lot and family stayed, he interceded on their behalf; likewise we need to look and to plead to God on behalf of the Brethren, especially for restoration especially as to those things that pertains to Godliness Genesis 18:16-33; 1Timothy 2:1; Philemon 1:4 Reading: James 5:16;
Hebrews 3:1,2 Thought: Praying for one another not only manifests love for the brethren, but also gives you victory over any ill feelings towards them. There cannot be malice or spite in prayer. The quickest way to overcome bitterness or any grudge towards a brother or sister, it is by praying for hem.
Guide: Pray for the less privileged friends and pray for those who do not know the Lord, especially people close to you and members of your family. Pray for the brethren in the house of God that they make it to the end of year being steadfast in the work of the Lord.
DAY 12 – PRAISE
We walk by faith and not sight 2 Corinthians 5:7. We will thank praise and worship God knowing that He takes pleasure in answering our prayers!
Scripture: Psalms 107:31-2; Psalms 126:1-3; Psalms 118; Romans 1:17 Thought: Praise is thanksgiving for what God has done or is yet to do. You do not have to see the acts of God to praise Him; you can praise the acts of God into manifestation. This is what Jehoshaphat did in 1 Chronicles 20 as he instructed the Israelite to “praise the Lord for his mercy endures forever.”The Lord has already done for you great and marvelous things in 2011. Therefore we are to praise Him for it….” and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.”
1 John 5:4.
Guide: “Therefore, I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.” Mark 11:24.
